It gives us great joy to cordially invite you to our 8th annual San Francisco Golden Gate Internationals Open Martial Arts Tournament on April 18-20, 2008. This 3 day Martial Arts event will be held at a NEW location, the beautiful renovated and luxurious Hyatt Regency in Santa Clara, near the heart of the Silicon Valley, and its various attractions. Paramount's Great America is right across the street, several museums are within walking distance, not to mention the amazing night life of downtown San Jose!

We are excited to provide a larger, more spacious venue for your comfort. Our objecive is to provide a 5 star experience at the Golden Gate Internationals, filled with world class competition. Competitors will be arriving from all over the United States, Canada and Mexico, as well as the top Sport Karate competitors from Northern California and Southern California. The Sport Karate energy level in California is at an all time high and we look forward to sharing that positive energy with you!

We are proud to continue the tradition of bringing our heritage of Philippine Martial Arts to the Sport Karate world. Our division line-up will include padded point sparring, padded continuous sparring, WEKAF "live" stickfighting, "live" double stickfighting, and Carenza (forms) divisions all highlighted on the center stage. Combat Weapons competition has also been added on Saturday, as well as West Coast Point Sparring. New this year: Grappling Divisions!

Our objective is to fosterthe traditional philosophy of the martial arts. The Pallen Family along with ourfellow NBL and AMAPA Promoters plan to focus on honoring Respect, Integrity and Fairness not only at the GGI but at all events we promote and attend. Be assured that if you train hard for competition, your efforts will be rewarded.

As your hosts, we are proud to be a part of the National Blackbelt League, Affiliated Martial Arts Promoters (A.M.A,P.A.), Sport Karate International League, Western Pacific -WestPac- National Conference Tour, and the always exciting Golden Gate Regional Conference. AMAPA is proud to add PromoterJames Solis to our roster. Additionall, the NBL Golden Gate Regional Conference has expanded to include the San Francisco Nationals hosted by Manuel Gonzalez and family, as well as the Extreme MAChallenge hosted by MikeAndresen and Charlie Zarza. As always, the Golden Gate Internationals Production Team works year-round to bring the nations finest officials, competitors, teams, coaches and spectators together for a weekend of outstanding competition, dynamic performances and warm hospitality; the foundation for a memorable event.

We are once again pleased to offer the new competitor, as well as the experienced competitor many unique options: 300+ divisions, 36 Grand Championships, over$10,000.00 in awards and cash prizes; Check It Out: NEW Continuous Sparring for UNDERBELTADULT MEN! Underbelt flag sparring divisions; Blackbelt (non-NBL) Senior Men's Teams; West Coast (groin shot) Point Sparring; first timers' divisions; notto mention the return of Stickfighting. And remember, all juniors receive an award. Join us for a brand NEW Saturday Evening Finals show, with surprise celebrity guest appearances and a whole new finals look.

For 2008, we are bringing a wonderful opportunity to all of you up-and-coming and already experienced tricksters! One of the Bay Area's finest Sport Karate competitors will be hosting a Tricking Seminar: Hans Wikkeling will be on hand Saturday to share his superb skills!

Santa Clara is a perfect occasion for a family vacation!
